Sisters for Life: A Community Built on Faith and Purpose

As I reflect on my journey, I realize that I have always been drawn to a sense of purpose and community. For me, this was exemplified in the evenings when I would find myself reflecting on my day, feeling drained but also fulfilled. This sense of fulfillment came from my involvement with various groups at my parish, St., where I could serve others and experience a deeper connection with God.

I never expected to find this sense of purpose and belonging in Denver, Colorado. Growing up, I had spent my summers visiting family friends in the metro area, but it wasn't until I returned after college that I truly felt a sense of homecoming. It was as if the city itself held a special kind of grace for me.

As I settled back into life in Denver, I began to realize that my passion for business and my desire to serve Jesus were not mutually exclusive. In fact, they could be intertwined in ways that brought joy and fulfillment to both myself and others. This realization led me to take a job in the heart of downtown Denver, where I could use my skills to make a difference in the world.

Looking back on my journey, I am amazed at how God has guided me every step of the way. From my early years as Kate Sweeney to my current life as Sister Mercy Marie, S.V., I have been humbled by His choice for me and grateful for the opportunities He has given me to serve Him and others.

As a sister for life, I am part of a community that is dedicated to serving Jesus, his church, and the sanctity of all human life. We are eight women who will be making final vows in the coming days, committing ourselves to a life of service and love. Our journey is not without its challenges, but we are united in our passion for God's purpose and our commitment to living out that purpose in every aspect of our lives.

In conclusion, I believe that being a sister for life is about more than just dedicating oneself to a particular vocation or calling. It is about embracing a sense of community and purpose, and using one's gifts and talents to serve others and bring glory to God. As we embark on this journey together, I am excited to see what the future holds for us and how we can continue to inspire and uplift each other as sisters for life.
